Youth Protection Clearances

Summary of the Diocese Youth Protection Policy

The tragedy of sexual abuse of minors affects every segment of modern society.

The Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg is committed to meeting its responsibility to its people and to the larger society regarding this problem, and has adopted the Youth Protection Program as a tool of pastoral life and legal discipline. The Diocese pledges to uphold all provisions of the Youth Protection Program. Furthermore, the Diocese pledges adherence to Canon Law and full, open cooperation with the law-enforcement agencies of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and other civil jurisdictions.

"At Immaculate Heart of Mary, youth protection is a top priority. We strive to ensure that all youths are safe and protected while participating in our events. In order to help build up the next generation of faithful Catholics, we invite everyone (18-years-old and above) to consider joining one of our youth groups as a Volunteer. In order to ensure the safety of our youths, all employees and volunteers MUST obtain the necessary clearances first. If you are interested, please click on the Safe Youth link below. For any questions, please call or email Paul Oakes (Youth Ministry Leader for IHM)."
